Team History and Awards
Powell High School, established in 1948 in Powell, Tennessee, fields athletic teams known as the Panthers, sporting orange and black colors.
The Panthers football program made a significant run by reaching the state championship in 2011, and followed up with a strong showing in the semifinals the next year. Notably, the Powell Panthers won the Tennessee Class 5A state championship in 2021, marking a major milestone in the program’s history. They were also state runners-up in 2011.

To support local youth high school football programs, OEB Law donates a $1,000 check every week to different Knoxville area high schools and we sponsor the championship games!
Team Highlights and Star Players
Walter Nolen (DL, Class of 2021): National No. 1 recruit, Tennessee Player of the Year, and defensive anchor of Powell’s 2021 championship team. Posted 93 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, and 17 sacks in his senior season. Now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.
