The attorneys at OEB Law have over 50 years of combined experience serving the Knoxville community. Throughout all our years practicing here, we’ve become attached to the city and everything it offers.

Knoxville has much to offer, from historic attractions and museums to the best restaurants and entertainment. The city offers a unique combination of culture, natural beauty, and outdoor adventure, making it a great place to live and work. Below, learn a few reasons we love serving our Knoxville community.

Local Attractions

Knoxville boasts several local attractions that are fun for locals and visitors alike. This includes the Sunsphere, a unique feature of the city’s downtown skyline. The tower was constructed for the 1982 World’s Fair.

Visitors can buy tickets to the Sunsphere’s observation deck, which offers a 360-degree view of the city and the surrounding area, all the way to the Great Smoky Mountains.

The Smoky Mountains are another attraction that makes Knoxville a great place. The city is only a little over an hour’s drive from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Other attractions in the area include Zoo Knoxville, the World’s Fair Park, Ijams Nature Center, and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Community Events

Knoxville hosts numerous community events throughout the year that bring everyone together. One of the most popular ones is Bike Boat Brew & Bark. This annual summer event is dedicated to the outdoors, dog lovers, and beer enthusiasts. Also during the summer, the city offers a Concerts on the Square event. Every evening from May to September, visitors can gather in Market Square in downtown Knoxville to listen to various genres.

Other popular community events in Knoxville include Festival on the 4th, John Sevier Days, the East Tennessee History Fair, and the Tennessee Valley Fair.

Sports Teams

Knoxville is home to the most loyal sports fans you’ll ever meet. The city rallies around our professional hockey team, the Knoxville Ice Bears. The Ice Bears have made the playoffs every season since the team started in 2002.

Throughout their career, the team has won four President’s Cup championships. OEB Law is a proud sponsor of the Knoxville Ice Bears, and we never miss a game! Another well-known sports team in Knoxville is our minor league baseball team, the Tennessee Smokies. The team is currently based in the city of Kodak, a suburb of Knoxville. But they plan to move directly into Knoxville for the 2025 season.

Throughout their history, they’ve won three league titles, nine division titles, eight first-half titles, and nine second-half titles.

Entertainment and Restaurants

Knoxville has many inspiring museums, fun theaters, and delicious Southern food. Some of our favorite restaurants are:

  • Stock & Barrel, a stylish restaurant featuring thoughtfully sourced burgers & an extensive selection of bourbons.
  • Lonesome Dove Knoxville, for creative & exotic American fare, plus innovative cocktails, in an upscale rustic-chic space.
  • Chesapeake’s Seafood Restaurant, for a seafood house serving classic Eastern Shore-style dishes.

After eating out, the Tennessee Theatre is the perfect place to catch a classic film, theater performance, or concert from the Knoxville Opera or Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

The theater was built in the historic Burwell Building, which is considered Knoxville’s first skyscraper. In 1982, the theater and Burwell Building were added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Some of the city’s most popular museums include the Knoxville Museum of Art, the Farragut Museum, and the McClung Museum of Natural History & Culture.
