Team History and Awards
Dobyns-Bennett High School, established in 1918 in Kingsport, Tennessee, fields athletic teams known as the Indians, sporting maroon and gray colors. Located at 1 Tribe Way, the school has been a cornerstone of Northeast Tennessee athletics for over a century.
The Indians football program is one of the most successful and storied programs in Tennessee high school football. Under longtime coach Graham Clark (1993-2017), the program compiled an incredible 233 wins, making him one of the winningest coaches in state history. During Clark’s tenure, the Indians achieved 132 victories, nine conference championships, and 15 playoff appearances. Current head coach Joey Christian, who served as an assistant for 15 years under Clark, took over in 2018 and led the team to a Region 1-6A championship in 2024.
