Harriman entered Friday’s game on an eight-game home losing streak that stretched back to last season. That slide extended to nine games after a 47-20 loss to the Rockwood Tigers, bringing the Blue Devils’ record down to 0-5. Harriman kept things competitive through the first half, but they could not hold on after halftime.
Rockwood continues to build momentum after winning three of its last four matchups. The victory brought the Tigers to 3-2 on the season and boosted their team scoring average to 27.4 points per game.
A well-rounded offensive attack sparked the Tigers’ offense, highlighted by a huge night from quarterback Aiden Amonett. Amonett completed just nine passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score. It was his highest passing yardage total since throwing for the exact same amount against Harriman last August. Adrian Darby chipped in on the ground, picking up 86 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.
Both programs prepare for conference matchups this coming Friday. Harriman hosts rival Midway at 7:00 p.m., while Rockwood visits Oliver Springs for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.*
